I'm sitting here letting the last tube of Graham Webb's HALO Illuminating Color Protection soak through my wet head. I paid around 20 bucks at Ulta for four tubes of this little magic blessing.
After getting my color done at Toni and Guy in December for the wedding, I decided to buy some insurance in the form of Halo. And I have to say that regardless of whether it has kept my highlights longer, I feel better knowing that I've applied Halo. Once a week, after shampooing and conditioning with a color-safe shampoo (Bedhead Self Absorbed:smells like yummy), I've diligently applied this. It doesn't have a fabulous smell, but it makes my locks feel very silky and shiny. And it takes a bit of patience to then get out of the shower, towel-dry, apply and then rinse, but sometimes maintenance can be rewarding.
Now I haven't been a highlighting-type-of-girl for a very long time, mind you. This obsessive addiction was quite a treat for me after going a few years with natural hair. I have done the Natural Instincts boxes a few times and those are temporary color treatments. Lee of the band Elegant Trash was my colorist at Toni and Guy(TIGI). I played model a few times for TIGI and realized how torturous it was to sit through a five-hour hair consult just to get free color.
I've used Graham Webb products since high school so I do trust their line. While I'm letting Halo sink in, I can't help but also say that I'm using Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer AGAIN. I'm a pale deer and when I want to dress cute lately, I'm very white, so by using this 7.5 fl oz. bottle ($5.97 at Walmart) every day after showering, I get a fakey-golden tan that makes me appear much healthier. I love the scent and the results. Apply after shower, walk around nude for five minutes to let the lotion sink in properly, then get dressed and you're ready to go on your own glamgirl way!
Now my color is grown out about two inches, but I'm still getting compliments. My neighbour is a student and wants to do my highlights next. I'll see but for now I'm going with the flow.

A beacon in the night beckoned me to the warm glow of "Brazil Central" - "...not just your AVERAGE grocery store" this auspicious eve of Dec. 16, 2006.
We had finished our sake, edamame+sashimi thanks to the Great Wall and I had to share my wont to get my brazilian on.
While waiting during the five minutes of my tardiness for beauty, he too had been pulled into the store with unique crackers and brightly coloured hats. Gent replied, "Oh it looks like Dynasty in there!"
That was all he had to say and I scampered my way ACROST the parking lot in my green, sequined walmart special wedding shoes, my sweat-pant white DKNY shin-length skirt, my cutie green polo tee and new ISAAC woolen longy coat. It was 70ish degrees today but I wanted my coat to cover my sensible immodesties.
I felt at home there. Home in the sense that it felt like NY. I viewed some baubles and a purple+silver ring! And a pink+purple beaded necklace with ornate flowers with swarovski crystals. Faux Pradas, Gorgeous Clutches and all sorts of whatnots. Groove On!
Mama was tired and had to make her soup for the morning so I had to scuttlebutt. For a moment, I was transplanted to Long Beach, NY where you can find these ridiculous little ma+pa shops where they sell vintage leather skirts and fabulous garments for the price of your noonday garbage lunch fix.

My choice of drinking water. Nice square-shaped bottle. 1.99 for one liter.
Fiji. The design has changed since I used to buy.
But when I choose bottled, I choose Fiji.
"In Fiji, rainfall filters through volcanic rock over hundreds of years, adding vital minerals that give FIJI WATER its unique and refreshing taste. The water collects in an ancient artesian aquifer deep within the earth where it is protected from external elements. It's the way nature intended water to be. Untouched.

Untouched in a bottle? Hmm....I might pick up chunks of ice because they are free or find the Chattahoochee River but that is so dirty and has dead bodies in it probably.
